Donald Glover said he has not been online since his “This Is America” music video went viral – because he is too sensitive to seeing criticism.
The musician and actor – who released the track under his pseudonym Childish Gambino – appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! days after the internet was flooded with opinion pieces and reviews about the potentially controversial smash hit.
The video – which has been viewed 75 million times on YouTube – appears to tackle the theme of gun violence in America.
But Glover, who plays Lando Calrissian in upcoming Star Wars move Solo, said he deliberately sidesteps reading opinions on it.
Some friends have sent a couple (of the think pieces), but, for real, I haven’t been on the Internet since (it dropped) he told the talk show host. “It’s bad for me. I’m really sensitive. I see one negative thing, and I track that person down. I go to their Instagram and be like, ‘You’re not so great. That baby’s not even that cute!”‘
